NOTR - Update on Codex Sinaiticus Debate - 4.27.17

Today's Show: UPDATE ON CODEX SINAITICUS DEBATE

Chris discusses some of the new information surrounding the Codex Sinaiticus with a growing number of researchers and authors publishing important details.  In particular, a new book by Dr. David Sorenson covers elements of the last 12 verses of Mark that are often called into question because they are not found in the "most ancient and reliable manuscripts, the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus."  Yet critical details about the paleographical analysis of those texts is typically omitted from the average study Bible, preventing Christians from drawing a more educated conclusion.  A powerful quote has surfaced from 19th century scholar, Dr. James Harris that sheds light on the issue.

NOTR - Pope, Islamic Criticism & The Armenian Genocide - 4.24.17

Today's Show: POPE, ISLAMIC CRITICISM & THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Chris discusses a series of news topics, from recent comments made by Pope Francis who referred to refugee camps as "concentration camps," to the discovery of new information that has surfaced about the Armenian Genocide of 1915, from a leading Turkish-American scholar on the subject.  Also discussed is a recent headline that denies the crucifixion of Christ, based on an allegedly "ancient manuscript" called The Gospel of Barnabas that was discovered in the year 2000.  Having reportedly come from Turkey, the so-called gospel reports that Jesus did not actually die on the cross, but rather it was Judas -- a common claim among Islamic scholars.  But could the manuscript have been the work of ancient Gnostic heretics?

NOTR - The Jesuits & Franklin Graham - 4.19.17

Today's Show: THE JESUITS & FRANKLIN GRAHAM

Chris discusses an article posted by the Jesuit's America Magazine in which they interviewed Franklin Graham about a new documentary produced by his organization.  While avoiding anything to do with the new film, the Jesuit writer went on about Graham's "anti-Muslim" and "anti-LGBT" comments.  Also discussed is the story of a Muslim who recently attended a World View Weekend conference, and was found out in his car video-taping himself making threatening comments while brandishing a series of firearms.  He has not yet been arrested.

NOTR - Resurrection Sunday - 4.17.17

Today's Show: RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Chris discusses some of the controversies surrounding the annual celebration of the Easter holiday, which is sometimes called "Resurrection Sunday."  The New Testament places an important emphasis on a believers' faith in the Resurrection of Christ, and the Apostle Paul argued it to be a critical component of salvation (Romans 10:9, 1 Corinthians 15:2,17).  Also discussed is some of the history behind the word "Easter" and whether or not it comes from a Pagan origin, along with recognition of the holiday itself.  Was Easter adopted in place of some pagan festival, or was the annual remembrance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ observed by the early church?

NOTR - Trump, Russia & World War - 4.15.17

Today's Show: TRUMP, RUSSIA & WORLD WAR

Chris discusses more of the latest headlines in light of New Testament prophecies concerning "wars and rumors of war" which seem to abound.  The U.S. conflict with Syria brings our country into a potential conflict with Russia, and now North Korea is saber rattling about a nuclear threat.  What are the prophetic implications of such a time as this?  And will these events somehow escalate into the next world war as some predict?  Jesus foretold that the nations would rise one against another but tells believers that we should "be not troubled" and to remember that "all these things must come to pass."

NOTR - Trump, Syria & The Swords of Men - 4.13.17

Today's Show: TRUMP, SYRIA & THE SWORDS OF MEN

Chris discusses the latest issues with President Trump's decision to take action against Syrian President Assad, who has been blamed for a chemical attack against his own people.  What will conflict with Syria mean concerning U.S. relations with Russia?  Also discussed is a powerful passage from Ezekiel chapter 33 where God speaks against those who trust in their own "swords" rather than in the Lord.  The lesson reminds us of the faith of the early American colonists, who believed they could only prevail through faith in God.
